My Griffindor robe is finished!

I started on my Harry Potter robe today. I hate the cutting out part, it takes forever. This one only has 4 pieces but they are all HUGE. The robe takes 9 yards of fabric and so today it was a sea of black and maroon. Well that is over now onto the sewing. I found a better tie, one that is NOT purple but the patch still bothers me, it is very red. I am not sure if any others are different, it is hard to tell online.

I never posted pics of my dress so here you go. The "celebration" wasn;t much and there were only two people dressed up. Maybe next year it will be better.

I now have the double skirt done. It was easy, lots of rectangles and pleating. Now on to the bodice. Picture below.

green eggs and ham
I will be so glad when school is done in two days; May felt has like a year. I finally got started on my civil war dress with cutting out the skirt. I will start with that tomorrow. The skirt won;t be too hard, just a lot of rectangles and pleating.
11th-May-2011 07:38 pm - fabric arrived!

Well the fabric for my dress arrived today. It has more lavender in it than I originally thought, but I think it will work. I am thinking of using a dark pink fabric for the under skirt and linning, and a pink trim for the top skirt. Picture is below. Again I am using the Pagoda bodice and double skirt.

1st-May-2011 06:30 pm - I am alive and sewing!
green eggs and ham
Wow, I have been off for a while. I got rid of my site since I didn't really need it. But Iam sewing again! I haven;t been inspired but now I have a reason. My family and I will be going to a civil war reenactment in Missouri so I will be making an outfit for it. I have my chemise and a hoopskirt, I might need a new corset. For the outfit I am going to use Truly Victorian's Pagoda Bodice and the double skirt patterns. I am going to look for some fabric tomorrow.
19th-Feb-2010 09:51 pm - bridesmaid dresses

Well last week we went bridesmaid dress shopping for Steph's wedding. Originally we were all doing same color different dresses but we ended up with the same dress for everyone. We are all going to wear this dress http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=-49998975¤tIdx=38&subCategory=-49998976%7c-49998975&catentryId=6096901&sort=
in Horizon, a bright blue with truffle as an accent, a sash http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=-49997444¤tIdx=2&subCategory=-49998498%7c-49997992%7c-49997444&catentryId=6097506&sort=

It is a lot of blue, and my sister says we are going to look like blueberries, but oh well. I am surpirzed that I like the dress, I normally don't like strapless. Now to figure out jewelry and shoes. I am glad we get to choose our hairstyle, at least that way Sarah and Sabrina and I can look a little different :)
